Our specialties include Corporate Record Searches, Corporate filings, Business Registrations, Court Records \& Due Diligence searches and Document Apostille.
Centro is a small dynamic company known in the industry for providing fast, reliable personal service and have been doing so for 3 decades! We are currently seeking a Corporate Search Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a team-player with a strong work-ethic and can-do attitude. Because at Centro, Service Matters!
Responsibilities
· Be the among the first point of contact, primarily via email, for our clients who require assistance with a variety of searches both in Ontario and across Canada:
- Corporate searches (Profile Reports, Certificates of Status/Good Standing, etc.)
- Due Diligence searches (PPSA, Bank Act, Litigation, Bankruptcy, and Writs of Executions)
· Complete Ontario corporate filings such as Incorporations, Initial Notices, Notices of Change, and Annual Returns
· Prepare, draft, and review of various of registrations under the Personal Property Security Act (PPSA).
· Facilitate Superior Court searches in Ontario and across Canada and prepare summary reports.
· Communicate with various registries and agents across Canada for due diligence search matters.
· General office and administrative duties as required, including scanning, document filing and assisting in other areas of the business as required.
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
· Post-secondary education in one of the following: Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or any related legal field
· Experience in a search house, law firm, or related legal position preferred but not required.
· Knowledge and understanding of Corporate Law and Civil Litigation preferred but not required.
· Knowledge and understanding of the OBCA, CBCA, PPSA, Superior Courts, the Ontario Business Registry.
· Excellent working knowledge and of Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and related web-based applications. This role requires efficiency in navigating various websites and databases.
· Exceptional organization and time management skills to prioritize the workload to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
· Embrace new technology with the goal of improving internal processes.
· Enthusiastic individual who thrives both independently and in a team environment.
