Position Summary:
- Facilitate in person NRP workshops onsite at The Michener Institute of Education at UHN. The workshops are primarily scheduled on weekends.
- Evaluate participants' performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure competency in resuscitation techniques.
- Remain current with CPS guidelines/NRP curriculum and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Knowledgeable of the care of women in the postpartum and post-operative period and ability to apply this knowledge in the clinical setting.
- Facilitate discussion while promoting student engagement throughout the workshop.
- Responsible for equipment and materials throughout the course, supervise student use and ensure that students use the equipment respectfully.
- Ensure that Michener's academic and continuing education policies and processes are adhered to.
- Liaise closely with the Continuing Education Department, ensuring communication and documentation are handled effectively.
Qualifications
- Active NRP Instructor Certification from the Canadian Pediatric Society.
- Extensive clinical experience in neonatal care, specifically in resuscitation and emergency scenarios.
- Previous teaching or instructional experience, particularly in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in using simulation-based training tools and technologies.
- Understanding of and commitment to learner-centered education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solving and critical decision-making skills.
