A reputable law firm located in North York is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Real Estate Law Clerk to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and preparing residential real estate documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, mortgage documents, and closing documents
- Handling all aspects of residential real estate transactions, from initial consultation to post-closing
- Coordinating with clients, realtors, lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction
- Conducting title searches and reviewing title documents
- Managing client files and ensuring all deadlines are met
- Facilitating the preparation and submission of mortgage instructions and reviewing documents for compliance
- Handling post-closing matters, including the preparation of reporting letters and file archiving
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Law Clerk in Residential Real Estate
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent legal education
- Strong understanding of residential real estate transactions, including Ontario Land Transfer Tax and title searches
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Teraview, Conveyancer)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple transactions at once
- Familiarity with Ontario Land Registry procedures and residential closing practices
