Job description
We are currently looking for an Supplier Relations \& Events Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience with planning and executing events, managing project budgets, negotiating skills and a passion for travel, and be able to work both independently as well as in a team. They should be able to meet deadlines and have great time management skills, attention to detail, a friendly telephone manner for support purposes and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong analytical skills and ability to use spreadsheets.
Role responsibilities:
- Preparing RFP's
- Working with hotels and other venues
- Setting agendas for events and conference
- Planning travel (including booking hotels, cars, transfers and flights)
- Planning and executing events
- Communicating to event attendees and staff
- Negotiate agreements with hotels
- Working with travel industry supplier partners to reconcile payments \& agreements
- Supporting the supplier relations team
- Working with travel agent partners
- Booking meetings and managing calendars
- Represent the brand in a respectful and friendly manner
Reporting to the Supplier Relations \& National Conference Manager
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accounting \& invoicing
- Advanced knowledge \& skills using Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Ability to multitask
- Detail oriented \& self-motivated
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- Fun, friendly, and engaging telephone personality
- Open to learning new skills and taking on new tasks
- Ability to pivot and support the business as needed
- Travel industry experience is an asset
- Second language an asset (Spanish preferred)
