Duties
- Ensuring efficient day to day operations of clinical areas
- Ongoing continuous improvement and project management practices to strengthen clinic processes
- Performing financial/administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective site operation
- Contributing to staff development by promoting and ensuring a supportive/collaborative learning environment within the service(s)/cluster area based on the principles of adult learning and practice standards for nurses, students and ancillary staff
- Performing human resources responsibilities in collaboration with the ambulatory nurse manager
- Liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of quality and optimal management of patient care outcomes (including data collection/reporting)
Qualifications
- At minimum, a completion of BScN Baccalaureate in Nursing or Baccalaureate level education with Diploma in Nursing required
- Completion of a Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Basic Cardiac life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
- Three (3) years nursing experience, including experience as required by area of responsibility and experience working in a supervisory capacity
- Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Demonstrates membership within a professional nursing association and/or nursing interest groups related to practice
- Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills
- Experience with project management and/or Lean process improvement an asset
- Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and collaborates with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Excellent skills in recognizing, analyzing and resolving problems
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- Clinical and patient teaching skills
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multi-task

- Maintains and protects patient confidentiality in accordance with UHN Confidentiality policy requirements
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
