Position Summary:
Mirka Canada is seeking a results-driven District Sales Manager (DSM) to lead sales growth in the Automotive Refinishing (ART) segment across the Eastern GTA and Northern Ontario. This individual will be responsible for expanding market share by converting high-potential body shops, managing distributor relationships, and executing our go-to-market strategy.
This is a headcount replacement for an established territory with strong potential and a solid existing customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Sales \& Conversions
- Execute strategic growth plans focused on converting premium body shops, including MSOs, Banners, and large independents.
- Drive trials of Mirka abrasives and transition prospects toward long-term conversion contracts.
Distributor Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key regional distributors.
- Expand Mirka's presence with growing dealer networks and national distributor chains.
- Partner with distributors to ensure inventory alignment and seamless shop conversions.
Sales Activity \& CRM Management
- Accurately log and maintain opportunities, trials, demos, and conversions in CRM (SAP or equivalent).
- Meet or exceed KPI benchmarks related to shop visits, opportunity creation, trials, and successful conversions.
Market Development
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities in underserved regions throughout the territory.
- Participate in trade shows, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
- Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence and insights to the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B field sales; experience in automotive refinishing or technical sales preferred.
- Proven consultative selling skills and ability to run impactful product demonstrations.
- Experience managing a defined sales territory and working closely with distributor partners.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (SAP preferred).
- Highly self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the territory.
