Position -- Senior UI Programmer

Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family as the first Sony game development team in Canada in 2022.
We have made amazing progress in a short time thanks to our talented, passionate team and their excellent contributions. Our first game, Fairgames, is in development for PlayStation and PC. Fairgames is a competitive multiplayer action heist with a vision to build a systemic and evolving world focused on freedom, thrill and playfulness that will entertain and engage players for years to come.
The Senior UI Programmer will design and implement new menus \& HUDs while building a solid and performant UI toolkit for the UI/UX artists. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Senior UI Programmer will enable the highest quality UI/UX experience for our players.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain a UI toolkit used by UI/UX artists
- Develop, implement, and maintain various menus and HUDs (2D \& 3D)
- Development optimized UI software solutions tailored to the UI engine
- Document UI systems and define UI standard methodologies
Minimum Qualifications
- 8 years professional software development skills
- 5 years experience as a UI programmer
- Excellent C coding and debugging skills with experience in code optimization
- Familiar with UI/UX concepts
- Interest in working on various UI related tasks, including UI engine tasks
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment, while prioritizing your own workload
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing with Unreal Engine and UMG technology
- Experience working in another UI middleware
- UI development experience on console (PlayStation) and PC development
- Education background in software ergonomics
