Under the responsibility of the National Retail Sales Director, the Key Account Sales Manager will work with assigned key retail sales agencies and/or customer merchants to increase MAAX's sales and market share of products in major accounts in the retail market segment.
Primary responsibilities
- Be the face of MAAX for major National accounts and develop relationships with account stakeholders to help create alignment necessary in reaching plan objectives.
- Become the bathware category manager and drive-up aisle (on-line) productivity for our customers with the proper analytics to support and justify proposals \& recommendations for new products, merchandising, promotions etc...
- Develop internal network and maintain a high level of communication with the internal network to maximize support to the account. Build/maintain bridges between account and internal functions and account key stakeholders to create efficient communication paths.
- Develop, present and own the key account annual sales budget \& provide updated sales forecast necessary for sales and operations planning. Provide sales updates to annual sales objectives along with timely sales activity reports as necessary for sales leadership to fully understand the opportunities, progress and challenges related to achieve objectives.
- Develop and follow an operational model that delivers relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually dashboards and business reviews driving the action plan in line with the account objectives.
- Prepare supporting documents for business reviews, commercial enhancement and new product presentations and present them to customers. Develop sales presentations as necessary from time to time to inform various levels of management on sales progress.
- Record and report pertinent product as well as sales and marketing data concerning our customer base and our competition to appropriate sales and marketing leadership and support personnel.
- Provide product, sales and administrative training for all agency and/or distributor personnel (where necessary) involved in the sale of MAAX products at the account.
- Work special events including national and regional industry shows, contractor nights, grand openings, trade conventions and other associated selling events. Weekend work will be required from time to time.
- Perform product /merchandising inspections as may be needed from time to time.The Key Account Manager must report product inspection findings to the appropriate operations and quality personnel in a timely and accurate fashion.
Profile
- 5 to 8 years of National account representation in related industry.
- Professional Bathware experience - Knowing the products is a very important asset
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field;
- Willing to travel (15%);
- Bilingual -- English is an absolute requirement because many of our customers are located outside Quebec
- Experience in Retail Category management
Qualifications and competencies
- Ability to work independently;
- High-level customer relationship building skills;
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation a must;
- Knowledge of retail segment of bath and kitchen industry preferred;
- Excellent planning and analysis skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft Outlook a must and experience with data warehouse sales reporting systems (i.e. Cognos, SAP BW) will be considered a plus;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point
- Demonstrated selling skills required;
- Excellent high-level written and verbal communication skills required.
