Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Before and After School Teacher to join our team. This is a temporary position for maternity cover for 22 months, which may lead to a full-time position after the contract.
Split shifts for 7am-9am, 2:30pm-5:30pm.
Responsibilities
- · Ensure a clean and safe environment for children.
- Provide learning experiences and opportunities to our young children.
- Establish loving, positive, safe and secure relationships with the children.
- Nurture to children's individual physical, social-emotional, and mental wellness needs.
- Connect and engage in collaborative partnerships with fellow educators, colleagues, leaders, families, and the greater community.
- Prepare, plan, implement and organize activities in-line with the centre's curriculum to support the development of children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical growth.
- Communicate children's learning development and progress with families/caregivers and colleagues
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities where necessary.
Qualifications
- · A valid Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate, ECE Certificate preferred
- A valid Emergency Child Care First Aid \& CPR/AED Level B Certificate
- A clear Criminal Record Check
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Strong communication skills; good spoken and written in English
- A high level of responsibility and accountability
- Commitment and dedication
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Have a passion for building and maintaining relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Before/After School setting
