Our client, an established and growing mission-driven organization focused on piloting research-based solutions to social issues is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Development to lead and execute its fundraising strategy.

The Opportunity
The Director of Development will own and lead the organization's fundraising strategy and execution, overseeing a portfolio that includes major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and board-driven campaigns. This role will also be key in reducing reliance on grant funding (currently \~75%) by building a more sustainable and diversified revenue base.
The Director will lead a small fundraising team and collaborate closely with the senior leadership and communications teams to elevate the organization's philanthropic profile and implement high-impact campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy \& Execution
- Develop and implement multi-channel fundraising strategies across major gifts, corporate partnerships, individual giving, grants, and board engagement.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of funders, with a focus on sustainability and growth.
- Lead grant writing and oversee all aspects of grant development.
- Collaborate with communications to ensure alignment between storytelling and fundraising.
- Explore and execute non-traditional revenue strategies (e.g., social enterprise, impact investment).
Portfolio \& Team Leadership
- Oversee the full fundraising portfolio and a team that includes two fundraising managers and a grant writer.
- Coach and develop team members, creating a culture of performance, collaboration, and accountability.
- Partner with the board to support governance-level fundraising activity.
Campaign Development \& Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead the design and execution of major fundraising campaigns.
- Develop a strong individual giving program, including major donor cultivation and peer-to-peer campaigns.
- Represent the organization externally with donors, sponsors, and partners.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $80,000--$115,000, depending on experience, with the opportunity to participate in a performance-based incentive structure.
