What You Will Do
- Perform BAS/HVAC control systems programming, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance as it relates to BAS sensors, panels, HVAC controls, and low-voltage control components, etc.
- Respond to demand requests and service calls using Johnson Controls' various applications, configuration, and commissioning tools, as well as a variety of hand tools, including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment.
- Provide frontline technical and repair support through effective communication with Johnson Controls customers.
- Conduct timely fault analysis and rectification of technical issues using available documentation such as shop drawings, as-builts, and single-line diagrams, and report outcomes to authorities.
- Provide system repair and/or update recommendations and assist in proposing recommendations to Johnson Controls customers.
- Service and maintain installed equipment at existing sites.
- Be well supported with our internal remote tech support and structured training.
How You Will Do It
- Load Johnson Controls field and network-level controller software.
- Perform troubleshooting and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers, as well as end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, switches, etc.), while making full use of submittal packages and technical documentation for self-guidance.
- Keep management and JCI contractors or customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) QFM, and on-site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
- Execute company-sponsored as well as personally initiated training to ensure the highest level of knowledge and capability is maintained.
- Engage with customers and affiliates to fully understand their systems, needs, and upgrade requirements.
- Communicate with JCI contractors or customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Abide by JCI policies and follow all safety standards, attending required safety training sessions and modules.
What We Look For
Required:
- Strong understanding of BAS systems, sequences, applications, building performance, energy efficiency solutions, and HVAC controls.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter.
- Solid knowledge of personal computers and software.
- Skills in IT, network communication, and PC hardware configuration.
- Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle with a valid Level G Ontario driver's license.
- This is a full-time role, and flexibility is expected from the employee to be available when needed.
Preferred:
- Minimum of a three-year college diploma/degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Technology.
