POSITION SUMMARY
The Physician Assistant (PA) at CHEO works alongside the physician on inpatient mental health and in a mental health outpatient aftercare clinic to provide care to the patients requiring these services. The PA integrates the skills and knowledge from a medical model of practice. The PA functions both autonomously and in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers to manage patient care in a comprehensive manner.
Working closely with the Interdisciplinary team, the physician assistant will participate in the management of patients admitted to inpatient mental health during their admission and/or for a time limited period after discharge and will be involved in medication/treatment management and focused risk assessment

RÉSUMÉ DES FONCTIONS
L'adjoint ou l'adjointe au médecin de CHEO travaille en collaboration avec le médecin pour les patients hospitalisés en santé mentale et dans une clinique de suivi en santé mentale afin de prodiguer des soins aux patients nécessitant ces services. Le ou la titulaire intègre ses compétences et ses connaissances à partir d'un modèle médical de pratique. Il ou elle travaille à la fois de manière autonome et en collaboration avec des médecins et d'autres fournisseurs de soins de santé afin de gérer les soins aux patients de manière globale.
En travaillant en étroite collaboration avec l'équipe interdisciplinaire, le ou la titulaire participe à la prise en charge des patients hospitalisés en santé mentale pendant leur admission ou pendant une période limitée après leur sortie et contribuera à la gestion des médicaments et du traitement ainsi qu'à l'évaluation ciblée des risques.
