Position Summary
General Duties
- Participates in the execution of laboratory projects and experiments. Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks according to established methodology in fields such as biochemistry, histology, immunology and molecular biology,
- Prepares and sets up materials and equipment. Performs a variety of assays, analyses and tests such as tissue culture, molecular techniques, electrophoresis and histological procedures,
- Records results, performs calculations and compiles data. Maintains records and files,
- Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the work area,
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the field to update skills and knowledge,
- Uses a variety of equipment such as balances, pH meters, pipettors, laminar flow hoods, incubators, microscopes, centrifuges, thermocycler, phosphor imager, electrophoresis apparatus, cryostats and computers,
- Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.
