Job Description
The Specialist, Purchasing will oversee the ordering of goods and services for all of Freedom Mobile. The purchasing specialist will analyze costs, negotiate contract details, and offer strategies and solutions to help the wireless orgnization to better manage costs on supplies and vendor services.Additional duties may include managing inventory, tracking orders, resolving issues concerning procing disputes and making bids for a vendors services.
- Issuing purchase orders for required goods and services: follow purchase order procedures to ensure accurate information is entered.
- Assists in the maintenance of appropriate administrative requirements related to procurement of all commodities including quotations, price lists and quality assessments, etc.
- General PO Management -- Cancellation, Revision, Closing, distribution.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on time delivery.
- Resolve any issues with the supplier regarding price and/or quantity.
- Report any late shipments affecting production as soon as possible.
- Make sure that the receipts are completed by the business unit in a timely manner for on time payments.
- Liaises with Accounts Payable department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices as necessary for the business with the supplier.
Qualifications
- Must have 2-3 years of experience in purchasing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Applications with advanced Excel skills, experience with inventory management systems
- Previous experience utlizing Oracle ERP System with purchasing module
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently and continiously challenge status quo
- High attention to detail with strong ability to multi-task and prioritize task
- Education in Univerity or college degree in Business Administration
- Supply Chain Management professional designation (SCMP) by the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada or a similar supply chain designation
- Professional Courses - Lean Six Sigma certification (minimum Green Belt) and Agile methodologies
