Company Description
We're embarking on an exciting new chapter in air ambulance services across British Columbia! With a 10-year contract secured, we're rolling out a fleet of seven cutting-edge Leonardo AW169 helicopters in partnership with BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS). The first two aircraft are already in service, delivering faster response times, advanced in-flight critical care, and greater reach to communities across the province. This is your chance to fly some of the most advanced HEMS aircraft while making a real impact where it matters most.
Role Description
HEMS Captains and First Officers will be responsible for conducting emergency medical services flights, ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew members. Duties include pre-flight planning, aircraft inspection, safe and efficient flight operations, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards. HEMS Pilots will also collaborate with medical teams to provide optimal patient care during transport.
Qualifications
- A valid and unrestricted Transport Canada ATPL(H) Licence
- A valid Canadian Passport, or authorization to work in Canada and travel to the USA (this position is not available for sponsorship)
- A minimum of 3000 hours (rotary) for Captain, and 1000 hours (rotary) for First Officer
- Group 4 IFR rating
- NVG and mountain flying experience an asset
- Ability to successfully complete the Controlled Goods Security Assessment application (NVG)
- Experience in HEMS operations and emergency medical services an asset
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially in high-stress environments
