We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Whangārei. If you are passionate about bridges, asset management and working with Clients with a drive to make a real impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
In this role you will work within one of New Zealand's most reputable structures asset management teams, delivering our structures asset management services in the Te Tai Tokerau/Northland region. This role comes with the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across our offices to successfully manage and deliver a portfolio of bridge asset management works for our established clients, including:
- Life-extending strengthening and remediation works
- Upgrades of existing structures to meet higher loadings
- Resilience improvements and climate adaptation projects
- Repairs for vehicle damage, heavy rainfall events, and more

Ko wai koe | About you
We are looking for a qualified Structural Engineer who is committed to managing our clients' existing bridge asset portfolios. Your primary focus will be asset management and overseeing the quality and safety of structural assets across Northland. A background in either design or construction of bridges/civil structures, with experience in managing bridges, civil structures, or similar assets is preferable, including:
- Assessing existing bridge assets.
- Designing and delivering upgrades or remedial works to existing assets.
- Partnering with clients to understand their long-term plans and help manage their forward works programmes.
You will be collaborative with strong solution-focused problem-solving skills, a good communicator, organised, and a desire to continually learn and grow your technical and consulting skills, and you'll enjoy having fun along the way.
Experience and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in a consulting environment.
- Professional registration or on a clear path to achieving registration.
