Our client located in Ville Saint Laurent is presently looking to hire a Finance Manager-Inventory control.
Position Overview:
The Finance Manager -- Inventory Control has a leadership role within the company, managing, controlling, and overseeing all aspects of the guardianship, inter-company transfers, valuation, costing and accounting for all Inventory. The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in supporting Senior Management in making key business decisions, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all aspects of Inventory Control and collaborates with key stakeholders to drive insights and efficiencies for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Accounting:Overseeing all Inventory accounting operations, managing the general ledger and
accounting rules in compliance with GAAP/ASPE. Thorough understanding of FIFO and Standard Cost accounting. Oversight and review of monthly inventory account reconciliations for 3PL as well as plant managed Inventory.
· Financial Reporting:Analyze monthly Inventory-related financial data, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in a timely and accurate manner, and presenting reports to key stakeholders. Extensive analysis on PPV, MUV and inventory capitalization processes.
· Oversee Cost Accounting:Oversee actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, overseeing cost accounting.
· Inventory Movement \& Transfer:Lead the team of Inventory Analysts responsible for processing all intercompany inventory movements (and invoicing) both between international legal entities and between 3PLs and the company's various manufacturing facilities, ensuring the timely and accurate processing internal POs/SOs and the weekly reconciliation thereof.
· Inventory Count Management:Establish consistent and comprehensive inventory count policies and procedures, ensuring they are properly communicated to and respected by Plant Financial Analysts, Inventory Control Analysts and all others involved with internal cycle counts and external inventory counts required by the company's external auditor and banks. Develop and execute on annual inventory count plan that covers all plant locations.
· Finance Transformation:Participate in driving change in ERP/ Finance IT systems to continually improve and enhance Inventory Control processes and provide value-added insights by establishing inventory management KPIs, setting-up dashboards with real-time data and leveraging the use of in-house artificial intelligence tools to proactively manage inventory levels.
· Process Optimization:Ensure accounting processes and procedures are operating as designed, making
improvements as necessary. Participate in projects related to harmonizing the manner in which the company
tracks, reports and accounts for inventory across legal entities.
· Team Leadership:Providing guidance and supervision to Inventory Control team, including setting objectives,
conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional development.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Interacting with internal and external stakeholders such as executives, auditors, and
suppliers to address financial concerns and provide financial insights.
· Partnership \& Collaboration:Engaging with internal teams for holistic decision-making, financial planning, and
operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education:
· BSc/BA in Accounting or Finance is required
· A Certified Public Account (CPA) designation is required
Experience:
· 5 years of experience in a Finance/Accounting management role, with experience in the manufacturing
industry preferred.
· Proven ability to navigate and align North American executive expectations with operational realities and
business practices in Mexico, ensuring seamless collaboration and cultural adaptability
Skills:
· Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
· Demonstrated leadership with teams of 5 members.
· Experience with cost analysis and inventory management and inventory controls
· Strong knowledge of ASPE (required)
· Proficient in using ERP systems (Just Food, Microsoft Dynamics)
· Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
· Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker
· Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
