What would you be doing?
- Assist the IT team in the following IT-related tasks, inquiries and Tier 1 issues such as:
- Basic hardware and software troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Maintain and update IT assets, ensuring proper documentation of hardware, software, and procedures.
- Learn and become aware of the Firm's IT security policies and procedures.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Technical Specialists and/or IT Manager.
- With the guidance of the IT Team, aid in providing support in response to IT-related emergencies, such as loss of connectivity, to minimize disruptions to productivity.
- VPN connectivity and RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) access for remote workers.
- Password resets and user account provisioning (on-prem Active Directory and Azure AD).
Who is our ideal candidate?
- Must be enrolled in an approved post-secondary education in an IT program.
- Basic knowledge of IT networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.) and familiarity with Windows Server environments is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products and services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Creative problem-solving ability.
- Experience in delivery of quality customer-service.
- A keen desire to learn and develop technical skills in a professional environment.
- Someone who demonstrates strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- A team player with a positive 'can do' approach.
- A general knowledge of the Firm's products and services.
- A basic understanding of industry and technical trends.
- Entry-level IT certifications such as Comptia A is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and virtualization concepts, including Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server roles is beneficial
