We are currently recruiting for a Superintendent -- Roofing, for projects throughout the province of Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Manager, Roofing and Cladding, the Superintendent collaborates with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other team members. The Superintendent is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all worksite functions and activities necessary to achieve the fundamental project objectives.
Position ResponsibilitiesAccountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for the supervision of crew members -- ensuring quality and productivity throughout installation.
- Single ply roofing systems, using waterproof sheet materials such as EPDM or TPO (ballasted, fully adhered and mechanically fastened).
- Plan ahead to foresee problems, arrange work, and procure materials well enough in advance to avoid schedule delays and rush orders.
- Maintain an accurate and reasonably complete daily log of site activities including photos, using Lindsay Construction's project management software.
- Meet regularly with any assigned personnel to ensure proper information flow and adherence to due dates, budgeted hours, and costs.
- Ensure compliance to all occupational health and safety, and housekeeping items.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' commercial roofing experience, preferably within a supervisory role.
- Experience working with Carlisle Roofing System considered an asset.
- Ability to coordinate on-site operations and lead a crew.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Focused on quality and productivity.
- Familiar with industrial, institutional, and commercial construction.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Journeyman's classification in a skilled trade is an asset.
