Role Summary:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, developing, and implementing construction projects ranging from $1.5MM and up, ensuring on-time, within-scope, and on-budget delivery. This role includes managing project lifecycles from initiation to turnover, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of First Nations culture, particularly Blackfoot culture, is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Coordination:
- Plan, initiate, and manage projects from start to finish, coordinating internal resources and third-party vendors.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.
- Oversee and control project changes in scope, schedule, and costs, using verification techniques as needed.
- Conduct weekly update meetings with contractors and consultants, utilizing earned value management (EVM) for tracking.
- Assist with Health and Safety initiatives, ensuring all processes meet safety standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on project health, status, and cost performance, including funding applications.
- Manage the project cost close-out process and participate in cost and risk analysis sessions.
- Support integrated reporting systems, using data-driven insights to influence strategic initiatives.
Stakeholder and Team Collaboration:
- Lead project meetings, delegate tasks, and supervise team members and external vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with various service areas to ensure successful cross-departmental project execution.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on maintaining databases for project tracking.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong client-facing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Project, Primavera).
- Knowledge of earned value management and Health and Safety protocols.
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in business, project management, or related field; a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is a plus.
- Civil, structural, process engineering is considered an asset.
- 3+ years of project management experience, with expertise in budgeting, cost control, scheduling and stakeholder engagement.
- PMP Certification required (candidates actively working toward certification may also be considered).

Remuneration Range: $90,000.00 to $100,00.00 per/year, Group Benefits and up to 7.6% pension match. 3 weeks vacation, 4 personal days, 15 sick days, 3 cultural days and paid Xmas break.
