Responsibilities
- Enter prescription and medication orders accurately into the pharmacy information system, ensuring adherence to clinical and regulatory standards.
- Verify patient information, including demographics, allergies, and current medications, to maintain up-to-date and accurate profiles.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to clarify incomplete or unclear orders and ensure safe medication practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations by handling all patient data securely and appropriately.
- Generate medication-related reports and documentation for clinical use, billing, and inventory tracking as required.
- Support medication order processing workflows by prioritizing tasks, assisting with administrative duties, and identifying potential discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a non-retail or institutional environment.
- Proficient data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in handling prescription information.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems; experience with Kroll is considered a strong asset.
- Understanding of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and basic pharmacological concepts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
