Job Summary

This role is part of our corporate financial services department within a large School Finance team. You will support school leaders with their budget decisions as part of a sizable team dedicated to school finance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with school leadership and supporting departments to develop, review, and adjust school budgets; provide regular updates on spending for proactive decision-making.
Monitor spending against budgets for sustainability, feasibility, and program alignment.
Prepare and submit accurate financial reports, including statements, spending reports, and student records, using multiple data and financial systems.
Maintain expertise on applicable laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
Create and submit grant applications and amendments tailored to school and student needs across various funding sources.
Advocate for schools' needs with education departments, school boards, and chartering authorities.
Communicate effectively with team members, schools, vendors, and government agencies, ensuring excellent customer service.
Analyze complex situations and develop solutions independently and collaboratively.
Support programmatic and financial audits as required.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years' experience in financial statement analysis and budgeting.
Background in business, accounting, or related fields.
Self-motivated, growth-oriented, and proactive.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working collaboratively in team environments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to analyze and summarize large datasets for clients.
Capable of managing multiple tasks within strict deadlines.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; additional experience in accounting (5+ years) is preferred.
