About the Opportunity
The Registered Cardiac Stress Technologist evaluates and aid in the diagnosis of patient's cardiac status through the use of various testing procedures such as directing patients through a progressive walking protocol on a treadmill, monitoring patients who have received a drug injection to simulate the effects of exercise, position patients on a bed which is capable of tilting forward and backward to reproduce syncopal (fainting) symptoms, and prepare and instruct patients on the use of ambulatory cardiac monitoring to be done on an outpatient basis. Working directly and indirectly with cardiologists and the nuclear medicine department as part of the cardiac investigation team to carry out these procedures. Exercise testing is a delegated medical function performed by a technologist who is certified as competent to perform the procedure by a physician or delegate.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Two years of BCIT or Registered Technologist with Certified Stress Tech certification

Formal exercise testing national exam

2 years of related experience required

Basic Cardiac Life Support Annual Recertification

Medical Terminology
-
Basic Keyboarding/computer skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills
-
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent, part-time position; 30 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits
$32.35 - $37.56 hourly
