Job Description Pharmacy Assistant (Part-time) Location Welland, ON :
Welland Life Compounding Pharmacy is looking for a motivated candidate in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to the Welland and surrounding community. We are an independent pharmacy offering specialty compounded medications.
Position Summary:
A Pharmacy Assistant is a critical member in the delivery of our medications. They assist in numerous tasks including preparation and packaging of medications as well as providing customer service.
Roles and Responsibilities:
● Assist the pharmacist in practicing according to federal and provincial pharmacy standards
● Deliver exceptional care and service to all customers
● Dispensing prescriptions medications accurately
● Data entry of prescriptions into pharmacy system
● Filling, checking weekly compliance packs and dispills
● Processing third party billing for prescriptions and troubleshooting rejected claims
● Maintaining and ordering of pharmacy stock
● Maintaining and filing pharmacy records
● Managing transactions with customers using cash register
● Compounding non-sterile medications following NAPRA guidelines
● Answering telephone inquiries
● Cleaning and organizing the pharmacy
● Perform other duties assigned*
Qualifications
● 1 year pharmacy assistant experience (preferred)
- Registration with OCP (pharmacy tech applicants)
- Licensed pharmacy technician in Ontario (pharmacy tech applicants)
● Proficiency in any pharmacy software PharmaclikRx/Nexxsys/Kroll (Will train with appropriate candidate.
● Proficient written and oral communication
- Experience in a retail/customer service environment
- Ability to show independence as well as work well in a team environment
- Take initiative when required
- Strong Problem solving skills an asset
Preferred:
● Non-sterile compounding experience
- Proficiency in simple mathematical problems
Position will start off as part-time hours with ability to transition to full-time hours
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.20 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)
