We are seeking a detail-oriented Business System Analyst with deep expertise in Capital Markets reference data. In this role, you will collaborate with front-office, data governance, and technology teams to define, source, curate, and deliver critical reference data such as instrument identifiers, legal-entity data, and product hierarchies for trading, risk, compliance, and reporting systems. Your domain knowledge and technical skills will ensure our reference data pipeline is accurate, complete, and scalable.
The base salary for this role in Toronto, ON is CAD $125k - CAD $135K/year plus benefits.
Responsibilities include:
- Business analysis and requirements gathering from traders, risk managers, operations, and compliance.
- Mapping and defining reference data elements across asset classes.
- Identifying and evaluating external vendors and data sources.
- Designing and documenting data ingestion workflows.
- Implementing data validation, exception handling, and reconciliation routines.
- Translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Supporting system testing and defect resolution.
- Enforcing data governance policies and monitoring data quality.
- Producing reports, data catalog updates, and impact assessments.
- Conducting training and preparing user guides.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience with reference data in trading, risk, or back-office functions.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational data modeling.
- Experience with data integration tools like Informatica PowerCenter or Talend.
- Familiarity with MDM and data governance platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred skills include B2B data protocols, scripting (Python, Shell), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
