Role Summary
The Director reports to the VP of Airport Operations and oversees all activities related to the operation and maintenance of Kelowna International Airport. Responsibilities include quality control, financial management, stakeholder relations, safety, and policy implementation, ensuring high standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations: Manage maintenance of airport systems (HVAC, baggage handling, passenger bridges, etc.), contract management, energy, and quality standards. Coordinate activities with other departments and support business development initiatives.
- Personnel Management: Set objectives, evaluate staff, manage labor relations, and ensure team training.
- Health \& Safety: Enforce safety rules, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety improvements.
- Finance: Prepare and monitor budgets, analyze financial results, and develop action plans for service improvements.
- Business Development: Collaborate on contract negotiations, proposals, and identifying new airport opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
- Authorized to work in Canada and able to pass security screenings.
- 5-10 years' experience in airport facilities or similar environment.
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems, FM activities, and relevant software (MS Office, COUPA, CONCUR, Planon).
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel.

Additional Information
