About the Capital Development and Facilities Management at Humber:
Capital Development \& Facilities Management is responsible for new construction and renovation projects and provides project design, planning and space allocation services to improve and expand Humber's campus environment. We maintain all college buildings and grounds to provide a safe, clean, healthy and well-maintained campus environment that supports well-being and promotes excellence in teaching and learning at Humber. We also lead the college's sustainability programs through the Office of Sustainability.
About the Building Maintenance Coordinator Role:
Under the direction of the Manager, Plant Services, the incumbent coordinates the daily demand and project-based work within the Building Maintenance Department at the North Campus.
The incumbent:
- Provides direction and technical assistance to Building Maintenance staff, contractors, vendors, etc.
- Ensure the provision of safe, efficient and effective services, including, but not limited to: roofing maintenance and repairs, building envelope, interior finishes, door hardware, etc., through work assignments, follow-up and corrective actions.
- Plans, coordinates and executes building maintenance related projects such as washroom upgrades, building envelope including windows and door upgrades and replacements etc.
- Identifies, organizes and assigns work to outside contractors to deal with building maintenance issues as required.
- Performs skilled work in the preventative maintenance and demand repair of broken and/or faulty building equipment and/or building (e.g. door hardware, painting, drywall repairs, floor tile repairs, etc.).
The Building Maintenance Coordinator is also required to have excellent organizational and communication skills (i.e. written and verbal) to be able to articulate the correct work processes to get all tasks completed in a timely and efficient manner. As a professional, the Building Maintenance Coordinator is required to follow all Humber Facilities' policies and procedures. This individual is also responsible for Building Maintenance operations in the manager's absence.

Education
- Prior training in the following subjects: Mold and asbestos awareness, WHMIS, Fall Arrest and Work at Heights
Experience/Skills
A Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with the following skills:
- Progressive coordinating and/or supervisory experience in facilities or maintenance within a large-scale institutional setting (e.g., college, university, or hospital)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience scheduling and coordinating work across multiple locations, collaborating with both internal community members and external contractors
- Proficient in office computer software, including MS Office, Outlook, and work order management systems
- Drywall repair
- Masonry and tile repairs
- Glass and door hardware repairs
