About the Opportunity:We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker on behalf of our client, a well-established bakery in Toronto. This position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a love for creating high-quality baked goods. The successful candidate will play a key role in daily production and maintaining consistency, freshness, and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities:Baking \& ProductionPrepare and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods
Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure product consistency
Monitor baking process and adjust ovens or ingredients as needed
Quality ControlMaintain high standards of quality, taste, and presentation
Ensure freshness by rotating stock and minimizing waste
Food Safety \& SanitationMaintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
Ensure tools and equipment are sanitized and maintained
Inventory \& SuppliesAssist with inventory checks and inform management of supply needs
Properly store ingredients and supplies to maintain freshness
Team CollaborationWork closely with kitchen and service teams to meet production needs
Support training of new staff as needed
Work Schedule:Early morning or daytime shifts
Full-time availability including weekends and holidays
Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 6 months of baking experience (within Canada)Minimum 3 years of baking experience (outside Canada)English proficiency with CLB 6 or higher
Knowledge of traditional and contemporary baking techniques
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to lift heavy ingredients and stand for extended periods
