ROLE OVERVIEW
The Director of Creator Marketing is a visionary leader and industry expert with extensive experience in developing and executing successful influencer marketing campaigns. We're looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving innovation, efficiency, and growth within a dynamic marketing environment. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the ever-evolving influencer landscape, a keen eye for emerging trends, and a passion for leveraging the power of authentic storytelling to achieve measurable results.
The Director of Creator Marketing will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and operational execution of our influencer marketing initiatives. This includes leading a high-performing team, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the department. The successful candidate will have a data-driven mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others.
This is currently a Hybrid work opportunity with 2 days in office required at our Salt Toronto Head Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Closely collaborate with the MD, Creator \& Social to refine and execute the overarching strategic vision for creator marketing, aligning with broader organizational goals.
- Identify and implement innovative approaches to enhance the department's effectiveness and efficiency.
- Stay in the know on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure our strategies remain cutting-edge.
- Drive the development of scalable processes and systems to support the growth of the influencer marketing program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate influencer marketing efforts seamlessly into broader marketing campaigns.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the influencer marketing team, ensuring smooth execution of client projects and campaigns.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to optimize ROI and maximize impact.
- Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key influencers and industry partners.
Client Partnership:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel and thought leadership on influencer marketing initiatives.
- Lead the development and presentation of comprehensive influencer marketing plans and proposals that address client objectives.
- Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and exceptional results.
- Participate in new business pitches and presentations, showcasing our expertise and capabilities in influencer marketing.
EXPERIENCE \& QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 8 years of experience in influencer marketing, with a proven track record of success in leadership roles.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Expert-level knowledge of major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) and influencer marketing tools.
- Proven success in developing and executing innovative influencer marketing campaigns for global brands or agencies.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance immediate client needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Skilled in deck development and light design.
- Experienced in managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and optimizing ROI.
- Deep understanding of the legal, ethical, and compliance considerations surrounding influencer marketing.
- Prior experience in retail, tech, or CPG industries is an asset.
- Ability to maintain composure and model leadership under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Public speaking or thought leadership experience within the influencer marketing space is an asset.
