Job Description: Registered Nurse - Perinatal

Reports to the Nurse Manager or designate. The Registered Nurse - Perinatal plans and provides direct nursing care to obstetrical patients in the hospital, adhering to the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and relevant obstetrical standards at the national, provincial, regional, and local levels, including the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Graduate of a recognized Perinatal Nursing specialty program.
- Current CPR Basic Rescuer certification.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate.
- Fetal Health Surveillance Course Certificate.
- Breastfeeding Course Certificate.
- Two (2) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
