The Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations and Sales, the Sales Consultant will be responsible for the overall development and servicing of the territory (Southern Alberta).
The successful candidate will market Groupex and Restaurants Canada programs and services to the decision makers of Independent Foodservice establishments using a consultative selling approach. As part of representing Groupex and Restaurants Canada, the Sales Consultant is a conduit between members and multiple tier one Food Service organizations and assists in communicating the Association's positions in the governmental affairs arena to members.
It is ideal for an energetic, reliable, results-oriented individual who is passionate about the restaurant / foodservice industry.
Responsibilities
- New business development -- prospect and develop an evolving target list
- Establish new opportunities; develop and maintain a professional relationship with all key decision makers and their partners
- Establish, maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and regional supplier partners
- Create a territory plan, develop annual account plans, prepare progress reports
- Attain company objectives for short term and long-term sales targets
- Collect market intelligence and track industry / competitive information
Background Experience, Skills and Education
- Minimum 5 years' sales experience in either a B2B and / or foodservice industry
- Post-secondary education, or equivalent experience
- Persuasive and confident, with a proven track record, and committed to producing results
- A natural relationship builder with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Organized and able to prioritize and manage several tasks at once
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook components of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel - the majority of business activities will be conducted face to face at the customer's location; some overnight travel will be required
- A dedicated space for a home office and a reliable vehicle with a valid driver's license in good standing
