Job Overview:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will manage a team of skilled maintenance staff, providing hands-on leadership and problem-solving expertise. Your role will focus on developing your team's capabilities, working with vendors and internal stakeholders, and supporting Give \& Go's long-term strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead maintenance projects, including sourcing and supervising contractors and suppliers to support programs.
- Support maintenance cost containment by managing budgets and approving capital projects as needed.
- Coach and develop the maintenance team, providing feedback and conducting evaluations to ensure team members have the necessary skills and resources.
- Manage corrective and backlog work orders, scheduling maintenance effectively around production stoppages.
- Conduct safety inspections in your area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards.
Recipe for Success:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- At least 7 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food or baking sectors.
- Valid Ontario Millwright or Electrician license; P.Eng and/or PMP are strong assets.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, automation, PLCs, instrumentation, robotics, and bulk handling systems.
- Experience with facility maintenance and plant equipment.
- Project management skills, including scoping and work breakdown.
- Ability to prioritize and resolve breakdowns promptly, initiating root cause analysis as needed.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and resource allocation skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office suite.
- Adaptability in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; knowledge of maintenance programs like TPM and reliability-centered maintenance.
