Job Description
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be primarily responsible for validating and monitoring invoices and credits, ensuring accuracy and punctuality of transactions.
Your responsibilities:
- Validate that the information on the invoice matches that on the receiving slip;
- Question invoices when there are anomalies, or credits without explanation, and seek information to corroborate with the accounting to be done;
- Compare invoices, receiving slips and shipping slips to ensure that quantities, descriptions and prices are consistent;
- Identify and correct billing discrepancies and problems;
- Post invoices in the system;
- Monitor credit receivables;
- Open supplier accounts and ensure that their tax #s exist;
- Contact suppliers as required;
- Participate in month-end and year-end processes;
- Any other related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
- DEP in accounting or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Computer skills and experience with accounting software.
- Autonomous, reliable and rigorous.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail and precision.
- Organizational and communication skills.
- Integrity and sense of ethics.
- Ability to work under pressure and results-oriented.
- Enjoys teamwork.
- Good knowledge of the Office 365 suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Bilingualism - English is required because some of our important suppliers are based outside of Quebec.
- Experience in the distribution sector or a family-owned SME (asset).
