Senior Director, Recruitment at Vaco (formerly Lannick)
CONTRACT: 6 months, with potential to extend
SETUP: Hybrid, 2-3 days/week in office, located downtown Toronto
START DATE: ASAP
About the Opportunity
- Lead and assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations, business assets, accruals, and prepaids.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analyses by reviewing and validating financial data within Workday.
- Provide oversight and support for automated reconciliations, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and financial controls.
- Work closely with finance leadership to assess and refine close processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Workday System Expertise \& Process Optimization:
- Leverage Workday's capabilities to enhance financial workflows and drive automation.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices to optimize Workday for accounting functions.
- Partner with IT and Finance teams to troubleshoot issues, refine configurations, and support system enhancements.
- Assist with ongoing Workday updates, ensuring the team is prepared for system changes and new features.
Compliance, Controls \& Audit Support:
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing reconciliations, documentation, and financial reports.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating risks related to finance processes and system integrity.
- Update and maintain internal standard operating procedures and policies.
- Prepare and report monthly Workday Reports (KPIs and KRIs) and analyses.
- Other duties and projects as assigned from time to time
Coaching, Mentorship \& Team Development:
- Act as a mentor and knowledge resource for the Finance team, helping team members strengthen their Workday expertise.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance on financial processes, reconciliations, and close activities.
About You
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including month-end close and reconciliations.
- Professional Accounting Designation is preferred
- Workday experience is a must
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with financial process automation and optimization.
