HedgeLegal is a boutique law firm providing advice and negotiation services for complex trading and financing documentation for hedge funds and sell-side firms. The firm represents some of the largest firms globally with a primary focus on US-based hedge funds and broker-dealers. HedgeLegal has extensive experience negotiating a wide array of trading documentation including Prime Brokerage, Term Commitment/Lock-Up, ISDA, Uncleared Margin Rules Implementation, Equity Master Confirmation Agreements, Futures Clearing, OTC Clearing, Repo, MSFTAs, and Custodial arrangements.
Role Description
The Associate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts. Related tasks will be reviewing contracts and validating or inputting terms into a database.
Qualifications
- Quebec Bar required
- Must live in Quebec
- In first or second year as a lawyer
- NY Bar is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Experience in legal research and writing
- Background in hedge funds, securities law or corporate finance is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Bachelor's degree in Law
