Dragonfruit Labs is hiring an AI Agent Development Intern to join our fast-moving team building AI tools that transform how early-stage startups operate. We're developing a suite of intelligent agents that help founders tackle critical tasks - from financial forecasting and strategy (via our Strategic CFO Agent) to broader operational and growth support.
What You'll Do -
This role is hands-on and high-impact. You'll work closely with engineers, product thinkers, and founders to build agents that ingest real business data, reason through decisions, and provide actionable recommendations. While you'll be contributing directly to our flagship CFO agent, you'll also have opportunities to help shape additional agent products as we expand.
Responsibilities -
- Develop, test, and improve AI agents using OpenAI APIs, LangChain, and Python/JavaScript frameworks
- Build data ingestion pipelines (e.g., Stripe, QuickBooks, payroll) and normalize inputs into agent-ready formats
- Collaborate on designing prompt frameworks for various agent workflows, from finance to operational insights
- Work alongside a senior developer to refine agent architecture, memory handling, and tool usage
- Participate in team standups, contribute ideas on product evolution, and ship fast iterations
- Write clean, maintainable code and lightweight technical documentation
Who You Are -
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field
- Solid experience with Python or JavaScript; familiarity with AI tooling like OpenAI's API, LangChain, or similar
- Exposure to building LLM-based agents, automation scripts, or prompt engineering projects
- Bonus: familiarity with tools like GitHub APIs, QuickBooks/Stripe data, or workflow automation (Zapier, Make)
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in a startup-style environment
- Interest in early-stage startups, product development, and turning AI into real business tools
