Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader in manufacturing concrete masonry and landscaping products. It operates 9 plants across Ontario and Quebec.
We are seeking Machine Operators for rotating day/night and weekend shifts at our Metcalfe plant, Southern Ottawa.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Rekers machine (dry side) and ensure proper functioning.
- Operate strapping and wrapping machines, ensuring they function correctly.
- Handle all equipment related to the machine.
- Follow quality manual, complete quality and production reports, and oversee product curing.
- Perform set-up changes and operational adjustments for machine start-up.
- Program equipment according to product requirements, create and save product recipes for efficient changeovers.
- Perform preventive maintenance and participate in maintenance activities.
- Participate in machine clean-up and maintain a clean work area and toolbox.
- Report abnormalities or issues regarding product, quality, machine, or workplace to competent personnel.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Wear appropriate safety personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma.
- Knowledge of wielding, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating manufacturing equipment.
- Team-oriented, mechanically inclined, proactive, responsible, precise, and able to react quickly.
- Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.
