Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Thermal Design Engineer to lead the design of advanced cooling solutions for high-performance PCIe Cards and multi-chip Server Systems. The role involves thermal simulations, developing cooling solutions, and collaborating with suppliers. This position is on-site in Toronto, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Design and validate thermal solutions for high-power AI systems.
- Conduct thermal simulations using tools like Ansys IcePak, FloTHERM, or SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation.
- Develop and optimize air-cooled and liquid-cooled solutions.
- Perform reliability testing and thermal stability analysis.
- Collaborate with suppliers on design and validation.
- Support prototype testing and manufacturing validation.
- Manage BOMs and product lifecycle in PLM systems.
- Generate engineering documentation and lead design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Thermal Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years in thermal design, preferably for high-performance electronics.
- Expertise in cooling technologies and thermal simulation tools.
- Experience with vapor chambers, TIMs, heat pipes, and liquid cooling.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Understanding of GD\&T and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English.
- Willingness to visit suppliers in Taiwan and travel up to 10% internationally.
