- Participating in the planning, configuration, and deployment of the company's highly available network environment, including switches, routers, load balancers, DDoS mitigation devices and other hardware.
- Making recommendations and providing technical guidance to solve business problems and improve network availability.
- Researching network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of future network development efforts.
- Participating in various technology projects, some of which will be internal and some that are in support of customer-facing services.
- Maintaining thorough network documentation and update operational runbooks, ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with our software teams in defining the tools that enable infrastructure scaling at volume.
- Implement and oversee automated network configurations using tools like Ansible, AWX, and Python scripting to optimize deployments and reduce manual tasks.
- Mentor junior team members, guiding automation processes and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understanding of automation within a networking environment, with a focus on making operations more efficient rather than writing software.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications \& Experience Required
- Required 8-10 years' experience working in a network position, either operations, deployment or design and extensive experience with Juniper network platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of IP Networking protocols BGP, OSPF, MPLS etc. and hands-on experience managing large international networks.
- Experience and practical knowledge of network automation practices using Ansible playbook and Python programming.
- Working knowledge in a Linux environment in addition to traditional networking.
- Comfortable working with ambiguous or vaguely defined challenges in finding technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and network engineers.
- Proficiency in network automation tools such as Ansible (including AWX), Python scripting, and YANG data models will be highly regarded.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCP and JNCIE are highly preferred.
- Automation and DevOps-related certifications (e.g., DEV-NET) are considered an asset.
