Our client, a well established civil construction firm with operations across the Lower Mainland, is seeking a Project Manager to join their team in Surrey, BC. This individual will lead civil infrastructure projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall execution of civil construction projects from start to closeout, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and safety standards.
- Act as the primary client liaison, attending and leading project meetings and maintaining strong stakeholder communication.
- Review project documentation to develop and implement effective work plans.
- Procure materials and subcontractors, negotiate terms, and manage costs to meet project budgets.
- Manage all project administration, including contracts, permits, submittals, change orders, and invoicing.
- Track daily project progress and unit costs, identifying and addressing variances promptly.
- Conduct regular site visits, oversee subcontractor coordination, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Handle project closeout, including applications for substantial and total completion and related documentation.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction, including significant experience with underground wet utilities.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery, cost control, scheduling, and procurement.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Proficient with construction management software and MS Office Suite.
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel across the Lower Mainland as needed.
