Overview
Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team-oriented individuals to work in our fast-paced warehouse. As a Part-time Distribution Center Help Desk associate, you will provide customer service to Fastenal branches by answering questions, providing tracking, placing orders, performing quality checks, and resolving discrepancies. We are committed to environmental protection and maintaining a safe, healthy workplace. This entry-level position is based at our distribution center in Denton, TX, with potential for flexible scheduling after onboarding and training.
Responsibilities
- Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label products.
- Assist branches with product-related questions via phone, email, or online support.
- Perform quality checks to verify product descriptions and quantities.
- Locate orders within the warehouse.
- Learn and understand various department functions.
- Multi-task in a fast-paced environment, interacting with multiple departments.
- Retrieve products for walk-in customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Follow health, safety, and sustainability protocols.
- Participate in activities supporting health, safety, and sustainability goals.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Complete environmental health and safety training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in administrative/customer service or industry knowledge.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate multiple computer programs.
- Motivated, self-directed, and customer service-oriented.
- Strong math skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
- Problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift packages weighing 25-50 lbs, up to 100 lbs.
- Pass drug screening (where applicable).
