The ROLE
As an EarlyON Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) at ROCK, you will play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality early years programming that promotes healthy development, nurturing relationships, and strong connections with families. In this permanent full-time role (35 hours per week), you will report to the Manager of Early Years and draw on your knowledge of child development and early mental health to co-create inclusive, engaging play-based learning environments that reflect the diverse needs of children from birth to age six. You will collaborate with families, colleagues and community partners to ensure comprehensive support for children and caregivers, making a meaningful impact across the Halton community.
Who we're looking for:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- A minimum of two years' experience working with children aged 0--6, with a strong understanding of developmental milestones and individualized care.
- Proven knowledge and application of the Emergent Curriculum, fostering child-centered, inquiry-based learning
- A solid understanding of the Burlington community and its resources, with the ability to connect familiar to appropriate local supports
- Familiarity with infant and early childhood mental health, and demonstrated experience in creating supportive, inclusive environments.
- Respect for individual and cultural differences
- Proficient in using technology required for the role, including virtual programming and MAC OS operating systems (preferred).
- A current (within three months) criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Current CPR-C and First Aid certification.
- Flexibility to work evenings and Saturday mornings, with reliable transportation to support multi-site programming.
- Candidates with work experience or training as a Forest School Practioner will also be considered strong assets to the role.
