Utilize your deep understanding of the entire process of building injection molds to design, build, and repair complex molds.
-
Set up and program CNC vertical 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers, as well as CNC sinker EDM.
-
Use advanced CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks and Cimatron preferred) to design molds and manufacturing components.
-
Operate manual milling machines, automatic and manual surface grinders, and other machining fixtures.
-
Polish and finish molds using specialized equipment to ensure proper fit and finish.
-
Conduct repair work on molds, including welding, inserting, and revision changes.
-
Assemble and disassemble molds for maintenance and repair.
-
Design and build gauges, jigs, and fixtures as needed to check part accuracy.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, with a preference for SolidWorks and Cimatron.
-
Ability to set up and program CNC machines, including 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
-
Strong understanding of Algebra and trigonometry, and the ability to read and comprehend mold drawings and part prints.
-
Experience working with ASME Y14.5 GD\&T requirements and interpreting critical dimensions from engineering drawings.
-
Expertise in tool-making design considerations, including draft angles, gating, cooling systems, and undercut relief.
Bonus Points for:
-
Completion of a formal four-year Apprenticeship Program in Mold-making.
-
Experience with automated and semi-automated equipment.
