Position Overview: Civil Engineer
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to support and contribute to the growth and success of our client's operations in the region. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with municipalities and local governments, delivering quality projects through a dynamic and motivated team of professionals. This role encompasses full project involvement-from proposal and planning through to design, construction, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong mentorship abilities and oversee design reviews.
Qualifications \& Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
Minimum of 5 years' experience in civil engineering design, ideally within a consulting environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
Strong background in designing infrastructure for land development, including water distribution, sanitary collection, stormwater management, roadworks, and grading.
Experience with water treatment and sewage systems is considered an asset.
Role Responsibilities
Lead and support the ongoing growth of the local engineering practice.
Manage land development and municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction.
Provide engineering design and project management for subdivisions, site servicing, and stormwater management.
Prepare contract documents and oversee contract administration.
Foster and maintain strong client relationships.
Offer technical leadership and oversight to internal teams.
Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff and ensure quality control of design work.
Engage with public and private sector clients, regulatory bodies, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders.
Possess or develop familiarity with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) and the City of Salmon Arm project landscape.
