Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group Constructor GP, we have mobilized our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?

A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).

Stations:

One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.

Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.

Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
Under the Legal Director's supervision, the Legal Counsel will, among other things:
- Draft, negotiate and review subcontracts and template documents in collaboration with the Procurement department.
- Provide Construction Act legal advice.
- Provide support in litigation and dispute resolution proceedings.
- Provide support to the Property team in respect of access and permit matters.
- Advise the Contract Management team in respect of the administration of contracts, including design agreements and subcontracts.
- Draft and review correspondence in support of Project Agreement variations and claims.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in litigation or corporate counsel roles
- Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Ontario
- Experience in construction, engineering, or related industries is a significant asset
- Experience on P3 and other large complex construction projects is a significant asset
- Experience with dispute resolution is an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity and great commercial judgment
- The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and trust with all stakeholders
- Strong inter-personal skills, including resiliency
