PWO Canada is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier for auto manufacturers globally. We are one of five subsidiaries in the PWO AG Group, manufacturing lightweight metal components for the automotive industry.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of the position of Tool Crib Inventory Coordinator is to manage inventory for the tool crib and purchase inventory/supplies to ensure proper stock levels are maintained. The position is also responsible for overseeing the tool crib and maintaining the purchased part inventory system.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The position of Tool Crib Inventory Coordinator interacts directly with all departments within the company. The coordinator will manage and ensure that the tool crib inventory for both incoming and outgoing are controlled and work the Tooling Planner for inventory adjustments requirements.
The position must perform follow up regarding the ordered item especially if there are shipping errors, etc. The Tool Crib Inventory Coordinator must also maintain accurate inventory records for the tool crib, ensuring that the proper sign out system is followed by employees. The incumbent is responsible for his/her own work and does not coordinate the work of others.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Post secondary education in Materials Management or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills:The incumbent must have good knowledge of purchasing and inventory control. An excellent knowledge of SAP is required as well as a good knowledge of Microsoft Office. The candidate must have good knowledge of company forms, procedures and organizational skills.
Communication Skills:The incumbent must have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to source and negotiate prices with suppliers, problem solve with all departments about items and cost, complete necessary paperwork and for all normal technical/business communication.
Nature and Length of Experience: At least one year of experience in Materials Management, experience in entry level Purchasing is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the Tool crib area by checking inventory of parts through the SAP system.
- Organizes the area by labeling materials and physically putting them away as required.
- Ensures that proper inventory controls and procedures are in place and followed in order to keep inventory counts accurate.
- Perform min. annual inventory count and frequent inventory assessments when required to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Incoming and outgoing receiving and verification of purchase component for Tool Crib - quantity and accuracy.
- Co-ordination with quality (QM) for receiving inspection requirements and approvals.
- Perform daily inventory verification and update SAP inventory from other shifts.
- Support and manage the sign out/return procedures of all inventory leaving Tool Crib.
- Interact with Tooling Planner to ensure that low inventory are being order, processed and inventory is above min. requirement.
- Proper use of electronic data collection equipment.
- Performs all duties within the 5S standards.
- Following and performing the instructions as listed in the Work Area Reference Manual(s) applicable to the department.
- Compliance to all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for working safely, complying with safety policies and procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the designated areas as per company policy.
- Responsible for working safely and keeping a safe work area for themselves and fellow employees. Reporting any unsafe working conditions, practices, and work-related injuries immediately to his/her Manager.
- Any other job-related duties characteristic to the position, as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager and management team.
