Job Summary:
The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for assessing, analyzing, and monitoring the creditworthiness of borrowers to ensure sound lending decisions and regulatory compliance. This role involves conducting in-depth credit reviews, evaluating risk exposure, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations, and providing recommendations to mitigate credit risks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Credit Review and Risk Assessment
- Conduct independent and detailed reviews of credit applications, financial statements, and supporting documents.
- Assess borrower creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and industry risk exposure.
- Analyze financial ratios, cash flow, and collateral adequacy to determine credit risk.
- Identify early warning signals and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
2. Compliance and Policy Adherence
- Ensure all credit approvals comply with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk management frameworks.
- Assist in developing and updating credit policies and procedures based on regulatory changes.
3. Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting
- Continuously monitor the credit portfolio, identifying potential deterioration in loan quality.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate portfolio risk exposure.
- Prepare detailed reports on credit risk trends, key findings, and recommendations for management.
4. Stakeholder Coordination and Decision Support
- Collaborate with relationship managers, credit analysts, and risk teams to ensure effective risk assessment.
- Provide expert guidance on complex credit transactions and high-risk exposures.
- Participate in credit committees and provide recommendations on loan approvals and risk strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field;
- At least 5-10 years of experience in credit review, loan underwriting, or risk management in large local bank, preferably in multiple sectors experience such as commercial real estate, mining and energy, transportation, wholesale or syndicated loan;
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and lending principles;
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9, local banking regulations);
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Strong attention to detail and risk awareness;
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound credit decisions;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with work proficiency.
