The Director, Lifeco Operational Resilience Delivery plays a key role in building a strong risk management capacity and culture across the Company to drive operational resilience. This is accomplished through the management of key inputs from all Lines of Defence to ensure global operational resilience.
The Director, Lifeco Operational Resilience Delivery supports the company in embedding efficient and effective systems of risk management globally to ensure compliance with regulators including OSFI. Additionally, they support the VP Operational Risk and Resilience communicate and report to senior leadership, Lifeco Operational Resilience Council, Lifeco Operational Resilience Working Group, Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) and Board Risk Committee.
What you will do
- Working with Lifeco Director of Operational Resilience and regional Operational Resilience leads and project managers, develop and implement a robust program and project management model to support operational resilience; manage projects and programs aimed at enhancing resilience.
- Develop and execute strategic, disciplined and consistent program management practices.
- Engage/partner with and oversee program/project activities and initiatives with key stakeholders from within the Risk Function, other Oversight Functions, the 1st Line of Defence and Internal Audit.
- Represent the VP Operational Risk and Resilience and the Risk function at key enterprise forums
- Establish and manage governance and guidance in order to align stakeholders and priorities, working with stakeholders to identify risks and resolve issues, escalating to management, and guiding decision-making as required; monitor and control activities to achieve the desired scope and strategic objectives.
- Develop and manage responses to regulatory requests from applicable bodies, namely OSFI.
- Partner with Regulatory Affairs senior management to support requests.
- Develop, implement and oversee the strategic communication plan for the roll-out of key Operational Resilience activities.
- Support the timely development of and contribute to regular program and risk updates.
- Monitor progress on operational resilience globally and report progress to senior leadership, Lifeco Operational Resilience Council, Lifeco Operational Resilience Working Group, Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) and Board Risk Committee.
- Maintain strong relationships with key senior and executive leaders to support the oversight of the program and reporting to senior leadership, including Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, Risk Function, Actuarial, Finance, Investments, and Technology departments at Lifeco and across our regional businesses.
- Promote the importance of risk and resilience awareness and the development of a culture that leverages risk insights to enable better decision-making.
What you will bring
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, relevant degrees or a relevant professional body risk or program management qualification
- Minimum 7 years of significant industry experience; wide exposure to business areas is essential
- Minimum 2 years of experience at a management level
- Risk assessment, project management and managing and reporting experience an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Business/technical knowledge of the Company's business, life insurance, resilience, risk management, and relevant guidance and regulations
- The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec
The base salary for this position is between $92,100 - $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
