Overview:
The Bolivian Children's Foundation is a Canadian charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youth in Bolivia. We work in close partnership with Niños con Valor (NCV), a Bolivian non-profit organization that provides holistic, family-style care to children and adolescents who have experienced abandonment, neglect, or other difficult life circumstances. Through residential homes, youth empowerment programs, and extended support services, NCV offers children and young adults the tools and opportunities they need to build a brighter future and break cycles of poverty and trauma.
We are seeking a creative and independent Communications Manager to help strengthen our community engagement, enhance donor relationships, and raise awareness of the life-changing work happening in Bolivia. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in non-profit communications, digital media, donor stewardship, and fundraising support. The Communications Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and board members, receiving regular mentorship and guidance.

Content Creation and Management
- Develop, schedule, and manage social media content that highlights NCV's programs, success stories, and community impact.
- Draft, edit, and distribute newsletters, email campaigns, and digital updates to supporters.
- Maintain and update website content to ensure it is accurate, engaging, and aligned with organizational messaging.
Donor Communication
- Prepare donor thank-you letters, impact updates, and personalized project reports.
- Support the development of targeted communication strategies to engage and retain donors.
Fundraising and Event Support
- Assist with planning, promoting, and developing communication materials for fundraising campaigns and events.
- Create marketing assets such as event invitations, posters, and social media graphics.
- Support the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals.
Administrative and Reporting Support
- Update and maintain donor records and mailing lists in the organization's database.
- Create basic reports on campaign results, social media engagement, and donor communications.
Team Collaboration and Learning
- Attend weekly meetings with the Executive Director and/or Communications Committee.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions, share creative ideas, and build skills in nonprofit communications tools and best practices.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Creativity and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Interest in non-profit work, international development, communications, or community engagement.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Canva, Constant Contact, or website management tools (an asset but not required --- training will be provided).
Eligibility:
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
