Position Summary
Are you a certified Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician with a knack for solving mechanical challenges? Eagle Builders is currently seeking a skilled and dependable professional to join our team in Blackfalds. In this full-time, shop-based role, you'll support the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of our fleet, ensuring our equipment runs safely and efficiently to meet operational demands.
Job Description
Diagnose, repair and maintain fleet vehicles, cranes, semi-trucks, and heavy equipment
Perform scheduled inspections and maintain detailed service records in accordance with our maintenance program
Replace defective components and test equipment to ensure peak performance and compliance with regulatory standards
Prioritize tasks and work effectively within established systems and safety guidelines
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external service providers
Maintain inventory of wearable parts and assist with sourcing replacements
Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to identify root causes and solutions
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification (required)
Valid Class 5 driver's license, acceptable abstract and reliable transportation
Minimum 44-50 hours/week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
Available to work Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday
Available to join a rotating on-call schedule
Physically fit and capable of performing labor-intensive tasks for extended periods
Experience with industrial and construction equipment
Strong organization and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
Safety conscious, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box
Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
Applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment assessment prior to hire
Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta
Assets
CSTS Completion (Construction Safety Training System)
Experience with computer diagnostics
Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) license
Hydraulic systems knowledge
